Carruthers and Armitage are two teddies who will be taking important roles in the Dambusters2014 Charity efforts as part of the 70th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden in September this year! One will be flying in a Spitfire courtesy of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight, the dutch version of the RAF BBMF, over Arnhem and the other taking part in a 'para drop' as part of the 70 Anniversary Commemorations of Operation Market Garden with both then being auctioned to the highest bidder. Proceeds from the Dambusters2014 Charity Motorcycle Ride are being split between the RAF Benevolent Fund (80%) and Motorcycle Outreach (20%).
Our special thanks go to Carol Lorraine, her son Stuart (a captain in the Royal Netherlands Air Force) an avid sport parachutist and instructor and to Carol's husband, Air Commodore Chris Lorraine, ex RAF Jaguars and Hawk pilot and after transferring to the Dutch air force flew the F16 and various helicopters who will be flying the Spitfire.
Firstly we have 'Carruthers' - Spitfire pilot extra-ordinaire!
...and then we have 'Armitage' who has already started his 'para-drop' training!!!
I say again - you will be able to buy these incredible and rare teddies later in September when they will be auctioned to the highest bidder! Start saving up now as I expect the demand to be HUGE!!!
Keep popping back to the site for more details as our brave teddies get ready for their starring role in the Dambusters2014 Charity Motorcycle Ride and the 70th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden.
